The best part is when you find out that Johnny Truant’s mother wrote him a coded letter while in the asylum, well before she actually suggested using the code, in which she mentions the blind man by name even though based on everything Truant has said so far, she shouldn’t know who he is or that he ever existed. Daisy Jones and the Six has some of the best audio narration and one of the most engaging stories I’ve read in the past couple years. My all time favorites are definitely Zora Neal Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God, Beartown by Fredrik Backman, and Kindred by Octavia Butler.
